Staff support and development are fundamental priorities of the Inter-Institutional Postgraduate Program (M.Sc.) “Clinical Exercise and Applications of Technology in Health”.
A) Academic Staff
Faculty members of the M.Sc. program—including permanent academic staff, appointed lecturers, and visiting professors—receive support through the following actions:
- Professional Development Opportunities: Faculty are informed about professional training opportunities organized by the University’s Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP) and are actively encouraged to participate.
- Training in Digital Platforms: Academic staff are trained by the University’s IT Services in the use of digital applications such as Universis, eClass, Zoom, and the MODIP Information System.
- Access to the University Teaching Toolkit: Instructors are introduced to the official University Teaching Toolkit, addressed to all faculty members across Greek universities. This resource provides a curated collection of pedagogical tools and strategies aimed at promoting inclusive teaching approaches, including:
- Fostering learning strategies and emphasizing ‘big ideas’
- Engaging students in problem-solving and critical thinking
- Encouraging metacognitive development (‘learning how to learn’)
- Applying formative assessment techniques with varied tools to enhance deep learning
The tools are publicly available on the MODIP website: https://modip.duth.gr/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Toolkit_v1.1.pdf
- Instructional Support via CEDIMA: Regular training is provided through the University’s Center for Teaching and Learning Support (CEDIMA). Customized sessions can be organized specifically for faculty members of a particular School or Postgraduate Program. For current and upcoming training activities, please visit: https://ctl.duth.gr
- Inclusive Education Video Toolkit: Faculty members are informed about the educational video series ‘Equal Access and Inclusion’, developed by MODIP in collaboration with CEDIMA, aimed at promoting inclusive academic practices: https://modip.duth.gr/εκπαιδευτικα-βιντεο/
- Access to International Educational Resources: Faculty are encouraged to consult the ‘Documentation’ section of the MODIP website, which includes resources from the European Students’ Union (ESU) and other international organizations on innovative and student-centered teaching practices: https://modip.duth.gr/τεκμηριωση/
B) Administrative Staff
Administrative staff of the M.Sc. program are also actively supported through the following units:
- Participation in Training Activities: Administrative personnel are informed about training sessions organized by MODIP and are encouraged to attend.
- Digital Skills Training: Training is provided by the University’s IT Services on the use of administrative and educational platforms (e.g., Universis, eClass, Zoom, MODIP Information System).
- Encouragement for Continuing Education: Staff are encouraged to participate in training seminars relevant to their job responsibilities and are supported in doing so whenever needed.
