Admission Requirements and Selection Criteria

The admission requirements and selection criteria for prospective candidates are clearly defined, both quantitatively and qualitatively, and are made known through the official Call for Applications of the Postgraduate Program.

Admission Requirements:

  1. a) A Bachelor’s degree from a Higher Education Institution (University or Technological Educational Institute). b) Good knowledge (level B2) of one of the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish.

Language certificates submitted by candidates are evaluated based on the language proficiency scale used by ASEP (Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection).

Selection Criteria:

The evaluation of candidates for admission to the Program is based on the weighted assessment of the following criteria. The points (credits) awarded for each criterion are cumulative, although candidates are not required to meet all of them. All criteria are quantifiable and correspond to a specific number of points, as follows:

  • Degree Grade (Maximum 20 points): The grade is multiplied by a coefficient of 2.
  • Oral or poster presentations / publications in scientific conferences or journals (Maximum 15 points – 5 points each):
    • 5 points for first author,
    • 3 points for second author,
    • 1 point for any subsequent co-author.
  • Proven professional experience (Maximum 15 points – 3 points per year):
    • Up to 5 years (60 months) of professional experience are credited at a rate of 0.25 points per month.
  • Participation in research or European programs (Maximum 15 points – 5 points per program).
  • Second degree from another Higher Education Institution:
    • 25 points for a second university (AEI) degree
    • 15 points for a second Technological Educational Institute (TEI) degree (Maximum 25 points in total for this criterion)
  • Advanced foreign language proficiency beyond B2 level:
    • An additional 10% of the total accumulated score is added.

The final evaluation of each candidate is based on the cumulative score of the above criteria. Although fulfilling every criterion is not mandatory, each criterion contributes to the total score. The final ranking list of successful candidates is validated by the Assembly of the Program’s Academic Committee and published on the official website of the MSc Program.
